Country Church Pews

These pews take me back to the days when rural families worshiped
close to home instead of traveling to town. Vehicles and paved
farm-to-market roads slowly changed the Sunday culture.

I wonder how many families repeated The Lord's Prayer
and sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus"
 from these painted wooden pews.

Nice capture. I much prefer country churches to city churches.

These look amazingly like the pews in the church I went to as a child. :)

Except for the red carpet, this could easily be several New England churches that I know.

Absolutely my favorite kind of photography. Love the way you focused on one simple detail, like these simple church pews. I'm going to try this for future church shots--there are so many details that would make a great photo it's hard to zero in.

I can see individual families taking up a whole pew here.
