Cold River

Although temperatures have warmed, I still have a few cold-weather pictures to share. This photograph of a back-lighted Pettus Bridge over the Alabama River was taken on one of the coldest days of the decade. There was no ice in the river, but a person could surely imagine it!

I feel the cold and your vantage point looks as if you were alone and cold when taking the shot. Great mood photo. Speaking of mood, your 2009 theme day photo was absolutely stunning. I would have picked it too!

Thanks, Jan. I was alone and it was cold! We had not had this kind of COLD since I began the blog in 2007, so I had to get out in it to try and capture it.

It does look cold. I just hate to think about falling into that river this time of year.

Well, Abe, I guess you'd better stay away from the riverbanks! LOL

I would like to see this shot in all different seasons... or even lightings such as moon light, sunrise etc. Looks like a good spot.

That's such an attractive bridge, even if it does look cold. Actually, it looks warmer than here in Canada. LOL

That is a beautiful bridge - I can see why you chose it as your welcoming image, and no doubt a great subject year round. Love the cold sky.
